Why Did My Papa Stop Writing?

Why Did My Papa Stop Writing?- is a question to which I have no definitive answers. But that doesn't mean I should not try and find one and undo the wrong.

So what could be the possible reasons.......If he was too busy- Naaaahhhhh despite his frequent travels- or he lost interest in writing- again, I don't think so- or he was not at his cheerful best to be able to write- possibly so, or not at his feeling best- again a real possibility.....Whatever it was, fact remains that blame for not writing/irregular posting for many weeks and months lies squarely on him.

So many posts died inside the cobweb, that his head has become following his act of quitting his job to follow his passion. Issues, unfound answers to competing questions, commercial exigencies and constraints and lack of time has not only taken its toll on his ability to concentrate his mind but health as well; so much so that a daily ritual that used to bring him joy and happiness stopped doing so and the urge to write was not at all forthcoming- not anymore- as he set about writing this post on his own.

He got up at 5 in the morning after going to bed with contours of a possible post in his mind- much like past two years. Perhaps his decision to pick up 'reading- few days back- spurred him on; actually it did after he picked up his long forgotten book- “The Difficulty of Being Good: On the Subtle Art of Dharma.” It became too apparent to him that he need to live up to his "Dharma" and "Karma" towards me, of which maintaining and treasuring memories is an all important part.

On my part, despite my current over-dependence on my papa to log these posts, I too will ensure that it (my over-dependence) doesn't result in closing down of this blog. And then, I would long for the day when I will take this over from my papa and start maintaining it in my own words; until then, he has promised to keep it going for me. I am confident of him living upto his promise, especially because both my parents also see this blog as a real tribute to my birth and development. And, believe it or not, my papa also feels indebted to me (no no I mean this blog) as it has catapulted and inspired him to follow his passion.

So, what all he missed posting since writing his last post, here is the list

~ My birthday celebrations in Dehradun as I completed 2 years on 3rd November.
~ My Rudra bhai's injury to the middle finger of his left hand after it got crushed between the doors.......He had to undergo emergency plastic surgery on his hand......
~ Our visit to Dehradun for my birthday and Deepawali celebrations.
~ My daredevil act of playing with fire-crackers when my Rudra bhai refused to do so.

I am sure, he is going to write about them in his next post.

It feels good to complete 2 years, you know! It actually does!

No Blogging But A Nice Surprise!

Despite all his promises, my papa hasn't been able to update my blog for long now; owing to his pre-occupation with his new found passion-his outdoors startup- which keeps him busy in hills with no internet connectivity........He came back to Gurgaon Saturday morning after spending close to 10 days in hills......In between, he did manage to squeeze in a 5 hour quick-fire trip to Gurgaon just to meet me on 19th after he couldn't cope up with the long break from me......So, he took a flight to Delhi and reached our Gurgaon home at 4 pm to leave for Dehradun, 5 hours later by a night train .....I was fast asleep when he arrived; so my dadee told my papa to be careful not to wake me up from my sleep.......But, I had completely different plans and as soon as I heard his voice, I started smiling with closed eyes-that was more than enough for my papa not to heed to my dadee's instructions......he took "smiling" me into his lap- an act to which I reciprocated with a nice warm hug.....Soon, my Rudra bhai joined me in my father's arms- a missed photo-op but a great surprise....

With my papa back in Gurgaon, I hope that blogging will be back on track....My dada and dadee are also with us after completing their trip to Shirdi for the darshan of Bhagwan Sri Sai Baba. You know I can recognise Baba......My papa says that I am also a devotee of Baba as I always bow my head before Him whenever I see His picture or a statue.........Infact, my Rudra bhai and Ridhima didi do that as well.

I am ending this post with a video that was shot inside a pub- after I gatecrashed it - from a neighbouring restaurant we went dining for.........You can see my shadow dancing to the loud music.....And, no it isn't a video from our past gatecrashings..........So, here it comes....

Erratic Postings- Explanations

My blog-posting has been erratic for some time now; and my papa is to be blamed for that. For past 3 months, he has been travelling to Dehradun every weekend. Ostensible aim of all these trips is to drive/walk through the dense jungles and rivers in the wilderness around Dehradun............. But, I am sure that he is upto something with Sandeep and Rakesh chacha- his other two partners in this effort. Let’s see what do they come up with.......I hope and pray that their hard work pays off...... soon! I will keep you posted of the same. For now, my contribution in their venture is limited to seeing him off every Saturday morning with a smile......... He says that I am doing a great job with that!

My Disappearing Act!

I am here....I am here....doing everything that I love doing......crawling faster than before.....trying to learn to stand on my feet......shouting out dogs.....etc etc....but, couldn't post anything as my umbilical cord to this blog had developed some throat infection......Umbilical cord???? Fever????...What am I talking about?.....Let me explain....

My papa who logs all these posts for me was down with throat infection...... that infection led him to high fever for couple of days.....As soon as he recovered, he headed straight to Doon valley jungles along with Sandeep chacha for a recce trip.....Way to recuperate or something is cooking....watch out!

While he was away in the jungles, my mom and I were busy attending Anil mama's engagement ceremony in Delhi.... It was fun....

And, with this, my latest disappearing act stands explained!

My Likes & Dislikes

I just realised that I am nearing 200 posts with this being my 195th post. But none of my previous 194 posts made any mention of my likes and dislikes. So, let me fill that void with this post.......

This post is no exhaustive list of my likes and dislikes; but one can definitely call it an indicative list, not necessarily in that order:

~ I like everyone’s attention while I hate it when someone gloves my presence or feigns ignorance of me; I cannot stand that.......

~ I love to eat anything that is sweet but I don’t like salty stuff.

~ I like mangoes, bananas and apples while I make faces when I am given lentil soups.

~ I like to stand on my feet when on my mom’s lap inside a moving car; but cries every time I sit alone in the seat next to my papa......Mom has to be inside!

~ I like to take bath in my big green bath tub but hate it when my mom takes off my clothes for my pre-bath massage.

~ I like it when my mom allows me to hold my glass and sip water from it but don't like it when she holds it herself; basically I like to try it myself! In other words, I like to do things independently and dislike any assistance/restrictions.

~ I like to crawl up the stairs.......and, I don’t like to be brought down right afterwards!

~ I don’t like to hear “no” but I love hearing “yes”; a “yes” always brings smile to my face......

~ I love mirrors irrespective of their type and size; my only criterion is that mirror should be reflective.....

~ I like electronic gadgets like remotes, laptops, mobiles etc while I am generally indifferent to toys!

~ I like all the corner places of my house but don’t like edges of my bed/table or sofa.........

~ I like to stand on my moving pram; hate to sit inside it......same goes for my “bouncer”.....

~ I like to eat “paper”; but hate medicines, howsoever tasty it may be!

~ I love playing with my Rudra bhai but hate it when he hits me.......love it when he says “chhooooo chhweet” but hate it when he pinches my cheeks.....

~ I looooooove baby’s posters........

~ I like rice!

~ I can’t stand any disturbance while I am asleep.........

~ I like to greet my father with a smile upon his return from work and expect the same from him! He can ignore me at his own peril.......

~ Last but not the least, I like to laugh and smile.........I like your comments and expressions!

So keep visiting my space; you are always invited...........

Awards Galore

......for me? Naah.......this is just my 2nd in last 6 months- "An Honest Scrap Award"; a special one coming in as it did from someone who has been following my life through this blog for some time now. He is none other than Hashir alias Doodle. I should also thank Anzalna; his bhanjee (niece) of 4 months......perhaps visits to my blog is his way of connecting to her!He has tagged me to say 10 honest things about myself; and here they come based on what my loved ones think of me......

1. As per my mom- I have got an attitude. What made her say that is the way I sit and observe things- folded knees with both my hands on my two knees, head held high atop a straightened neck, intensely focused eyes and no smile; as if I have been given a task of being an observer....

2. As per my dadee- I have a reserved personality just like my bua.......I don’t mingle with everyone and sundry......it takes a lot to make me open up. Although it is an altogether different matter once I open up.....

3. As per my Shikha chachee- I have got a precious smile; something I tend to treasure......

4. My Ashu chacha feels that I will be more dominating of the three- me, Ridhima didi and Rudra bhai.

5. I am a pucca Garhwali (people who belong to Garhwal region of Uttarakhand) as I love rice and can’t bear heat.....

6. I don’t love lentil soup; basically I am very fussy about food. It better suits my taste bud, else!

7. I love electronic gadgets, always prefer a camera over my rattles, laptop over a teddy or a mobile phone over any other toy......

8. I can use my potty with an ease and have got an amazing control over my bladder......my parents don’t know what bed-wetting is? Yeah I am a 6 month old only.......

9. I love to stand on my feet; so much so that my papa feels that I will start walking much earlier than I start full scale crawling....

10. I always fold my hands when I see my papa do his morning prayers......in fact my Rudra bhai does that too. Since, I can't write more than 10 so adding the extra one here only- I love mirrors......

By the way, everything I do is honest!

Now, I am passing this on to 7 much deserving and celebrated bloggers-

Haphazard Post

It was kind of becoming monotonous to write about daily incidents on this blog. So, for a change today’s post will be something that will not make any sense. But then dude it makes sense.....so here it starts-

1. New Singing Sensations-It seems April 09 is going to be a memorable month in the history of singing. It is during this month Britain got its newest singing sensation-Susan Boyle. She will be remembered for both, her singing as well as her attitude. It was her steely resolve that helped her take on a hostile judge and a not so appreciative crowd through her singing. As her singing progressed, all the perceptions began to crumble like a house of cards. And, soon a poor and an unemployed woman became an instant celebrity world over; thanks to the exemplary reach of internet. You must be wondering what Susan Boyle has got to do with this post. Actually I want you to know that while Susan Boyle was performing on the stage of the reality TV talent show “Britain's Got Talent”, yours truly was doing her own singing practise on the other side of the globe- humming all sort of self-composed tunes and singing all kinds of different raagas (scales in western music) known only to kids kingdom. Hearing me sing, mom instantly said- “Here comes my singing sensation”. Now doesn’t that comparison make sense?

2. Intense? Who me? Naah....Is it a boy or a girl? What???????????-While in an elevator inside a shopping mall, I was constantly looking at a 3 odd year old sitting on her pram......when her mom noticed my looks of curiosity, she said to my mom-“ your kid is so intense...is it a boy or girl”. Now can anyone tell me if it is so difficult to make out from my intense face as to whether I am a boy or a girl? I couldn’t help but smile with my both dimples in full display. Wonder why that lady chose to ignore my not so intense face then? But let me ask you again- “Is it really so difficult to make out from my face whether I am a boy or a girl?” Mummeeeeeeeeey....look what are they saying?

3. Story of everyday- Mom, I don’t need top-feed anymore as I am full for now.........and yes let me move my face towards my papa as I want to look at him...and yes, please don’t move my face back to you again till I do that myself. How selfish!

4. My loving Rudra bhai and the competitive spirit- always tries to hold me in his arms. At times he fights with my mom to let him hold me. Wonder what makes him think that he can hold me when he has just learnt walking! However, I have no doubts about his love and affection for his younger sister-me. On my part, I tried shouting him out the other day after I saw him in my mom’s lap.....5 month old and such an intense competitive spirit! My papa- "wake up baby......this is just not done!"

5. I can enjoy or sleep through high decibel live singing performance in a food court but when at home, even a stray sound of lighting up of a matchstick is enough to break the rhythm of my sleep. How strange!

6. I imitate my mom when she plays with me.....Now, who is a 5 month old?

I have many such situations and I can continue writing but the man who lends his words to these posts is feeling sleepy......so let me give him a break until next time. That man is my papa!

A New Look

As you can see my cyberspace den now sports a new look after a marathon two day’s effort of my papa and mummy. The project apparently titled-“Redesign Reveda’s blog” was managed by papa with mom playing the role of his programming assistant. It must have been hard for them to drop the pink theme for subtle colours........“Colour” word reminds me of the day when my parents first bought clothes for me ahead of my delivery......Much to their surprise they found that almost all the clothes had “pink” in one form or the other. That discovery made my papa prophesise- “it will definitely be a girl”- something he always wanted......And the girl it is!

Let me know your views on the new look of my blog and I will tell my parents to incorporate your suggestions.

Last but not the least, my father has passed on his cold to me and my Rudra bhai....I am feeling bit cranky today; so my mom has given me Cinarest medicine....hope it will be of some help.

Until later.....

Why Blogging

I was wondering how would people feel reading a blog of a newly born kid-21 days old to be precise on 24th Nov. So let me clarify that:

~ this blog is original-thought wise, effort wise and feeling wise.So whatever you will read will connect straight to your heart and play the right chords to produce an emotional symphony; so keep reading to hear that melody;

~ my father will be MY voice until I am ready to write myself;

~ last but not least is meant to answer a question-"why blogging"; because I am truly an internet kid who came into this world as a result of fusion between two lovely people brought together by internet. My parents had met each other over internet only.
